1. Who we are

Ballot is operated by Oliver Flint, based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the Ballot app or website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Ballot.

2. What Ballot is

Ballot is a UK political opinion polling platform. Users vote on topical questions and see how their views compare to the rest of the UK. The data is used to produce aggregated, anonymised opinion research.

Ballot is not affiliated with any political party, campaign, or government body. Results represent the views of Ballot users only and should not be taken as representative of the UK population without qualification.

3. Eligibility

You must be 17 years of age or older to use Ballot. By using the app, you confirm you meet this requirement. Ballot is intended for UK residents, though it is accessible globally.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to cast votes or manipulate results
• Create multiple device identities to vote more than once per question
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract data from Ballot
• Use Ballot for any unlawful purpose or in violation of UK law
• Attempt to identify individual users from aggregated result data

We reserve the right to suspend access to any device we reasonably believe is in breach of these terms.

5. Content and questions

All questions published on Ballot are selected and moderated by us. We aim to present questions fairly and without political bias. We reserve the right to add, modify, or remove questions at any time.

Some questions cover sensitive topics including politics, religion, and social issues. These are intended to generate genuine opinion data, not to cause offence. If you have a concern about a specific question, contact us at hello@getballot.app.

6. Intellectual property

All content, design, code, and branding within Ballot is owned by us or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

You retain no intellectual property rights in your vote responses. By voting, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide licence to use your response as part of our aggregated datasets.

7. Data and privacy

Our use of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. By using Ballot you agree to the data practices described there.

8. Disclaimers

Ballot is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted access to the app. Results are based on voluntary self-selected responses and may not be statistically representative without weighting adjustments applied server-side.

Nothing on Ballot constitutes political advice, legal advice, or an endorsement of any political position.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of Ballot. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed £100.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Ballot after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notice.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
